A typical day

I'm usually travelling around QLD or flying interstate to visit our teams in SA. My job is all about connecting and engaging with our team and customers in store to provide not only the ultimate shopping experience, but ensure our teams are enjoying and thriving in their roles within the brand. I work closely with my Area Managers to coach and mentor not only them, but also the Store Management team into taking the next steps within their careers.

What does it take to be an amazing manager and leader?

A strong work ethic, belief in the brand, dedication, and a passion for people and fashion. You need to be a strategic thinker and have the determination to succeed. I’ve had no university degree, only previous experience in teamwork and retail roles. With a strong desire to succeed, a positive “can-do” attitude and a willingness to learn, anything is achievable. .

If you could go back in time and give yourself one piece of career advice, what would it be?

My advice would be to work hard, build a team beneath you that has the same passion for the brand as you do, and always stay be positive and trustworthy. Invest time in your own education, be it through books or by learning from people who inspire you. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes and take risks because these are the things which help you learn and grow into the best leader you can be!

Your customers, your store and your team

I started with Supre as a casual, and now, 10 years on, I’m a State Manager. The belief invested in me, and constant positive support given to me from my team has been vital in helping me achieve my goal of becoming State Manager. We work together, feed ideas off one another and lean on each other for support and advice. We are always included in decision making and encouraged to get involved. We give feedback, share ideas, and are asked questions making us feel included and part of the bigger picture. I honestly work with the best team! We have friendships as well as great working relationships. I love working in a brand that is so connected with its customers. Coming to work with Supre is not work at all.

What advice would you give someone thinking about applying for a job with Supre?

Go for it! Be yourself, let your personality shine through, have confidence and embrace your style! Don't be afraid to have fun and above all else smile. Be prepared to learn new things, evolve your fashion style and work at a very fast pace! Make sure you have a love for people, and a passion to help, assist and inspire others. The rewards and privileges of working for the brand are great, from unreal discounts to meeting new people and being given the opportunity to build a career.
